A New Adventure Shall Be Born

“The Inaugural festival in McDade-and the successor to Austin’s Fun Fun Fun Fest-could suggest where music festivals are going” - Texas Monthly “Whoever had the idea to throw a music festival inside a mystical forest deserves many a taco.” - Austin Monthly “Reincarnated from the now-defunct Fun Fun Fun Fest, SOS Fest is the younger child; dreamy, rebellious, and nonconformist.” - The 405

Born out of necessity by the core team that created, produced, and booked Austin’s legendary Fun Fun Fun Fest, Sound On Sound was designed to rethink what it means to be a modern music festival.

Curated by Margin Walker Presents, the team behind over 1000 venue bookings and events across Texas, the festival’s lineup is made up of acts from across the worlds of indie, punk, hip hop, metal, dance music, comedy, and live panel discussions / podcasts.

Located 35 miles East of downtown Austin, Sherwood Forest is home to the beloved and annual Sherwood Forest Faire which pays tribute to the time of Richard the Lionheart and Robin Hood & his Merry Men. Hidden away in the Lost Pines region of Central Texas, Sherwood Forest is a medieval-style village 23 acres in size, comprised of 100+ permanent structures. Multiple acres of additional land surrounding the village are set aside for camping, and as a “buffer to preserve the ambiance of our sanctuary from the outside world.” We’re honored to be able to hold Sound On Sound in this unique setting, and look forward to getting weird with you all in the forest in November.
