Another Indian firm announced that it will make vaccine for Corona

The initiative to develop a vaccine that can compete against Corona has started on a war basis. Hester Biosciences has also announced to make Corona vaccine now, after the Serum Institute in India. After the company’s announcement, its shares on Wednesday jumped 20 per cent.

Hester Biosciences, a pharmaceutical company based in Ahmedabad, said Wednesday it would develop a COVID-19 vaccine in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG).

Recombinant avian paramyxovirus-1 will be used as a ‘immunosensitive SARS-Cove-2 protein’ according to the paper. It can later be used for further analysis. Sachin Kumar, associate professor at the Department of Biology and Biotechnology, IIT Guwahati, said it is too early to comment on the potential of this vaccine. He’s going to head up the analysis department.
