Surprised that Biden wants Kamala Harris as running mate: Trump says

US President Donald Trump said he was shocked that his presidential-election Democratic Party opponent Joe Biden chose Indian-origin Senator Kamala Harris as his running mate despite knowing how rude and disrespectful she was to him. Biden appointed Harris as his vice presidential running mate on Tuesday, making history by naming the first black woman to vote on the presidential ticket of a major party.

In January 2019, Harris announced her Presidential bid. His campaign was unable to take off after initial few months and by the end of the year, she withdrew from the contest. She is the first person of color to be named on a vice presidential candidate and also just the fourth woman and the first ever African American and Indian American to run for the country’s second-highest political position.

Responding to questions, Trump said that Harris has been nasty to Biden. “As far as Kamala is concerned, she”s a big tax raiser. She”s a big slasher of funds for our military. And she”s got a lot of difficult things that she”s going to have to explain. Plus she was very, very nasty to–one of the reasons it surprised me–she was very–she was probably nastier than even Pocahontas to Joe Biden. She was very disrespectful to Joe Biden,” Trump alleged.
