Electronic car maker Tesla has announced to expand its footprints. Its CEO Elon Musk said that the company will enter the Indian market. This fulfills Musk’s dreams which he has been seen for a couple of years. Musk has been moving back and forth on his dream of launching the first business in India. According to Musk, his company has got an invitation from Indian major Ashok Leyland. Ashok Leyland is well known for manufacturing heavy vehicles like trucks and buses. It is the second-largest commercial vehicle manufacturer in its home country. In manufacturing buses globally, Ashok Leyland comes in the fourth position. It is the tenth-largest manufacturer of trucks in the world.
Tesla said that it decided to enter India after Ashok Leyland’s green signal for a partnership. Electric vehicles have a very small market in India. But Elon Musk sees a huge potential in the Indian market. He wants to invest in India to make the country the next big destination for electric vehicles. He had been working on his dreams of entering the Indian market for a long. Ashok Leyland said that the company is open to Musk’s offer to sign a deal in manufacturing electric vehicles in India. Tesla’s entry into India will finally let Indians finally drive powerful electric cars manufactured by Musk.
Elon Musk himself announced the plan to enter the Indian market. He said that the company will be finally making inroads in the Indian market in 2021. Musk on several occasions said that he wants to take Tesla to India. But in 2018, he had cited tough government rules as a big hurdle in his plan. The company then started exploring for a partnership with local players and has now find Ashok Leyland as a suitable match. Ashok Leyland said it wants to contribute to the electric car dream in India. The company is holding talks for a partnership with other players to meet its goal. Tesla is one of them.
